RÜFÜS DU SOL have emerged as one of the world’s preeminent live electronic acts. The Australian three-piece, known formerly to the world as just RÜFÜS, have thus far won the world over with two platinum-certified albums, ATLAS and Bloom, with a much-anticipated third on the way.
Comprised of members Tyrone Lindqvist, Jon George and James Hunt, RÜFÜS DU SOL first made their break in 2013, when their debut album, ATLAS, reached #1 in Australia. Their sophomore follow-up, 2016’s Bloom, subsequently hit #1 as well, transforming them from national heroes into a rising global phenomenon.
The album, which produced such iconic singles as “You Were Right” and “Innerbloom,” notably spawned a momentous two-year tour, including a milestone appearance at Coachella in 2016.
Now residing in Los Angeles, RÜFÜS DU SOL have spent the past year finishing their third album, largely influenced by the stark desert landscapes of California and their experiences on the road. With a new record on the horizon and a standout two-year tour at their backs, RÜFÜS DU SOL have entered a new era of their career.
“It feels like a new RÜFÜS,” the trio says. “We’re excited about this new music. We’re ambitious as ever.”
Daniel Goldstein is Lane 8. Born in California, the Leipzig-based 26-year-old has been named a ‘Future Star’ by Pete Tong and is redefining house music with his unique, cross-genre approach.
What sets Daniel apart from the crowded dance music scene is his ability to craft music that succeeds both in the club and on the iPod – a skill that has landed him an unusually wide range of DJ support. When you consider that everyone from The Magician to ODESZA, from Above and Beyond to Annie Mac have heavily supported his music, you can see why the Anjunadeep-signee has been named one of the “top 25 trail-blazing producers” by inthemix.com.
Releases with Anjuna, including “Diamonds,” “Be Mine”, “The One / Nothing You Can Say” and “Every Night,” have repeatedly topped the Hype Machine charts and garnered BBC Radio 1 support from Pete Tong, B. Traits, Annie Mac and Zane Lowe. Daniel is the only guest artist to ever release music on French Express, while official remixes for Above & Beyond, Eric Prydz, and most recently Odesza have shown his knack for appealing to both mainstream and indy audiences, in addition to his deep house base.
‘Rise,’ Daniel’s debut artist album, was released worldwide via Anjunadeep on July 17th. After Billboard and VICE’s i-D and Noisey premiered select tracks leading up to the album’s release, The New York Times debuted ‘Rise’ in full, a week before its official release, through their streaming feature, Press Play. Mixmag called the album “an intelligent blend of instrumental and vocal tracks, packed full of beautiful melodies and left-field pop moments,” while DJ Mag proclaims “[Daniel has] created a lane all to himself, free of comparison and full of resilient independence.”
Cassian has become one of Australia’s busiest young exports, clocking up serious miles performing all over the world at clubs & festivals from New York to Rome, Sao Paulo to Shanghai and Warsaw to Singapore. He’s supported DJs such as Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Guy Gerber, MK, Solomun, H.O.S.H, Hot Since 82 and played B2B with Maxxi Soundsystem, Mickey, Aeroplane and Motez to name a few.
Cassian has been keeping busy inside the studio as well, producing his own music as well as mixing & engineering for the likes of Banks, Classixx, Rufus, Miami Horror & Bag Raiders.
The last few years have seen Cassian release club EPs with New York City’s Nurvous Records (legendary dance label Nervous Record’s sister label), Andy George & Jaymo’s Moda Music, Club Sweat & be commissioned for remixes by the likes of Rufus, Alex Metric, Elliphant, Anna Lunoe & Touch Sensitive, Kraak & Smaak, RAC and Owl Eyes. They’ve been supported by DJs as diverse as MK, Damian Lazarus, Bondax, Danny Tenaglia, Bag Raiders, Oliver Koletzki, Aeroplane, A-Trak & Zombie Disco Squad.
In the latter half of 2014 Cassian signed to Sydney’s Sweat It Out Music! which will see the release of his debut single Running ft. Cleopold. The track was produced, mixed & mastered across studios in Sydney, London, LA & early DJ feedback already has support from Oliver Heldens, The Magician, Motez, Bag Raiders, The Aston Shuffle, Rufus, Nina Las Vegas, Sinden and looks set to be a summer weapon (in Aus) and a winter warmer for those in the northern hemisphere.
What does the future have in store? Remixes for Elliphant, Vanilla Ace, Classixx, as well as a follow up EP on Sweat it Out – He’s only just getting started.
